A third daughter of Richard West married John Hamilton of Ballygrot, County Down, Member of Parliament for Bangor in 1639 and a nephew to Sir James Hamilton of Killyleagh Castle, 1st Viscount Clandeboye. In regards John Hamilton, 'The Hamilton Manuscripts' states "he married a gentlewoman named West, daughter to a gent of good estate in Isle a Kail [Lecale]". They had two daughters; Jane, who married William Hogg of Rathgall (Bangor) and Rachel who married John Stevenson of Ballywooly (Bangor).
